PEEVED AT EVE
Was driving along today and decided to turn on the radio, which is a rare thing for me cos I prefer to play my own music so I know exactly what to expect. So anyway, was listening to the radio and Implication by 2Face came on. Apart from it's catchy beat, it also has a somewhat clever chorus. Translated from Idoma (the tribe in Benue State that ISN'T tiv) it literally says, "she ate, she ate, she gave her husband to eat..." basically talking about Adam and Eve as the ultimate illustration of Implication (you know, as in Eve implicated Adam, etc). You know the song, you love the song, but it got me musing. Why are we always so quick to condemn poor eve? Just what did we expect her to do? Bear with me a while, let me make a point here. Eve was the first woman. Lovely, nuturing, maternal, caring, selfless woman.
